Bucks big man, fan favorite and Milwaukee’s Official Hype Man Bobby Portis is back and ready for action as the Bucks begin their hunt for a second title in four years. With a reloaded roster featuring an exciting new phenom, a Defensive Player of the Year finalist and a perennial MVP candidate, Bobby and the Bucks are primed to take the season by storm.

 

Just before training camp, the Sixth Man of the Year hopeful took us on a tour of his favorite local spots around town, and we want you to come along for the ride! Join us as we get local with Bobby Portis!

Bobby Gets a Summer Job

 

During the Summer, NBA players get a break from the court, but Milwaukee’s Official Hype Man likes to stay busy! Watch Milwaukee Bucks big man, Bobby Portis, try his hand at being a zookeeper, tour guide, brewer and more as he searches for his summer gig in the Cream City.


VISIT Milwaukee is thrilled to run it back with Bucks glue guy and Milwaukee hype man Bobby Portis to promote the city as a destination. The return of a partnership that began in the summer of 2022, Bobby Portis returns as Milwaukee's Official Hype Man for 2023, spotlighting some of his favorite businesses and attractions around the Cream City.

Milwaukee’s Official Hype Man is back to explore even more of what makes the Cream City a great place on a Great Lake! Follow along as Milwaukee Bucks big man Bobby Portis looks for the woolly mammoth at the Milwaukee Public Museum, hosts story time at the Milwaukee Public Library, lends a helping hand at the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Regional Conference and crafts his signature cocktail, A Little Bit of Love, at Honeybee Sage.

Arriving in Milwaukee in 2020, Bobby has quickly become a fan favorite and local icon. A key contributor to the city's first championship in 50 years, his relationship with the fans and love for the city of Milwaukee made this partnership a natural fit in keeping with the mission of both VISIT Milwaukee and our new sports division, Sports Milwaukee.


“Since Bobby has made a name for himself as a fan favorite and an emotional leader with the Milwaukee Bucks, we thought it would be fun to have Bobby bring the same energy to promoting the great things to do in Milwaukee during the summer,” says Josh Albrecht, VISIT Milwaukee’s Vice President of Marketing & Communications. “Whether that is volleyball at the beach, coffee on a patio, boating on the river or a trip to a museum, we know there is plenty to get excited for.”
