Milwaukee Film’s Cultures and Communities Festival returns this fall. Now in its fourth year, this annual celebration of diversity, inclusivity and the rich tapestry of cultures that make Milwaukee one of National Geographic’s “Best of the World” destinations for 2023. From October 5-12, enjoy incredible events around town, screenings of movies at the Oriental Theatre and engrossing public discussions. From a sneaker and streetwear summit to spin classes, battle of the chefs to standup comedy by Janelle James and sensational films spanning nearly every genre, you won’t want to miss out on Milwaukee Film’s Cultures and Communities Festival.

Beginning with the Engage & Activate: Diverse Professionals Forum on Wednesday, October 4, and the Opening Night Party on October 5 at 8 p.m., the Cultures and Communities Festival boasts a lineup packed with events featuring national performing artists, speakers, activities and art exhibitions all around town.

Film
Featuring Milwaukee Film Festival favorites and brand-new films selected especially for the occasion, venture into the depths of the human condition and experience the range of emotions that only great cinema can illicit during this exhibition. Throughout the eight-day festival, explore various identities, cultural practices and issues that matter to communities in Milwaukee and beyond. Most film screenings will take place at the Oriental Theatre, with additional pop-ups throughout the community.
