The week started with chills at the kick-off event and press conference at the Marcus Performing Arts Center's Wilson Theater at Vogel Hall as visitors received a sneak preview and an exclusive performance from Wauwatosa West Theater’s production of “Frozen.” These students were selected to represent Wisconsin as winners of the “The United States of Frozen: Love Is an Open Door” competition. Guests also had the opportunity to interact with local theater groups as they the spotlight on the stellar talent here in Milwaukee!
Grace Weber, a local Milwaukeean, returned to her home in celebration of her sophomore album: “Paperflower.” This intimate collection of songs captivated fans at the iconic Pabst Theater as she shared this heartfelt album with her hometown. The concert featured special guests B~Free, Klassik and the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, this collection of local talent put on a one-of-a-kind show!
What’s better than a dinner and a show? A dinner and a show that’s for free! VISIT Milwaukee, Historic Third Ward Association and Milwaukee Downtown partnered to host the Dinner and a Show Giveaway with gift cards to downtown restaurants like DanDan, Saffron and Cubanitas. Winners also scored vouchers for performances throughout the district including Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Repertory Theater and more!
Say “hello!” to the newest members of the Milwaukee Theater District! Skylight Music Theatre and Next Act Theatre opened to the public for free tours of their spaces and a special behind-the-scenes peek at their venues!
Moderated by Milwaukee’s award-winning event planner and the host of VISIT Milwaukee’s Emmy-nominated show, “Good Things Brewing,” David Caruso led a group of panelists to showcase the people who contribute to Milwaukee’s world-class theatre scene. Panelists included Jayne Regan Pink, Jim Guy and Ashley Jordan. This exclusive discussion explored how some of the leading experts work behind the curtain to bring your favorite shows to life!
