Steve Baas is the executive director of the Wisconsin Transportation Builders Association. At WTBA, he and his team continuously monitor and proactively support state and federal legislation that advances investment in transportation construction and helps share an acceptable regulatory environment. Prior to WTBA, Steve spent 21 years with the Metropolitan Milwaukee Area Chamber of Commerce where he lobbied on MMAC's behalf at the federal, state, and local levels, and worked with the MMAC Board to identify and advance public policy in the interest of Association members. Baas came to MMAC after more than 16 years of government and political experience, including policy positions within Governor Tommy Thompson's administration and the Wisconsin Legislature. Baas served from 1997 to 2005 as the communications director for the Speaker of the Wisconsin Assembly.
